REPORT BACK FROM EQASA – IGEQ
The Managing Director of EQASA, Mrs Di Pieterse, accompanied by fellow director Mrs Troy Kernick, Mrs Nicola Sime Riley (SAEF EXCO) and Mrs Dalene Baksa (Tent-pegging) and CEEPSA KZN Regional representative, attended the annual International Group for Equestrian Qualifications (IGEQ) conference which was held in Budapest. The 2021 IGEQ Annual Conference will be held in South Africa and will be the second time the Group has held its annual meeting in South Africa.
South Africa is a trail blazer in the field of government recognised qualifications development and external assessment processes. More so as s we are the first country to have a government registered Professional Body (CEEPSA) for practitioners in entire South African horse industry.
Most exciting is that Mrs Pieterse has been invited by Malaysia as a Key Speaker at their National Equine Conference in 2019. She will be representing EQASA, and the IGEQ region that she represents on the IGEQ Executive committee.
.REGISTRATION OF RIDING SCHOOLS AND LIVERY YARDS.
We have created a document unpacking the criteria which is available on request from admin@ceepsa.org. Remember you will become a preferred service provider once you are registered, as the public will know that you have complied with strict criteria and are fully accountable,
IGEQ OBSERVES LEVEL 3 COACH EXAM
CEEPSA member EQASA recently hosted its third IGEQ international observer visit. This was Sweden’s Ulf Wilken’s second IGEQ observer visit and his third visit to South Africa. He had the opportunity to observe Module 2; 3; 4; 5; and 7 assessments at the SA Lipizzaner Centre and Maple Ridge Equestrian Farm respectively.
These visits are made on request of an IGEQ member country to the IGEQ Executive. They are paid for by the IGEQ. It is an excellent opportunity to provide for an outside observer to establish that the member country is maintaining the agreed International standards set by the 39 member countries of the IGEQ.
Ulf was a member of the IGEQ Executive Committee since the Group was founded in 1992 and he was chairman of the IGEQ from 2004 – 2016.
He is an International Dressage Judge and chaired the FEI Para-Dressage Committee from 2008 to 2016. He has served on WEG appeals committees for Para-Dressage and as recently as Tyron 2018.
Ulf was hosted by CEEPSA Board member Lynda Weinstein and her husband Louis, during his stay in South Africa.
