FEEDBACK ON EQUESTRIAN QUALIFICATIONS

We are thrilled to report that the first CEEPSA developed qualifications are complete. Huge gratitude goes to all those who gave of their time and expertise.

EQASA, who is the assessment quality partner will now engage with the various industries to determine what their individual assessment criteria will be,

Updating of the existing NQF levels 1-4, which form the basis for all equine and equestrian qualifications is in progress.

We can now move onto developing the complementary health qualifications and their specializations.

CPD AND LOG BOOKS

This is a call to all member who joined CEEPSA in 2014 that your log books are now due.

These must be in by the end of October latest.

Remember that your logs for CPD can be submitted on an ongoing basis.

Please do not hesitate to contact the office if you require any further information.

Please let our office know of any activities which may count towards CPD in your area, so that we can help you advertise it and also give others an opportunity to attend.

KNYSNA RELIEF

A huge thank you to Zena Penfold and Millsleigh for their donation of R2000.00 which was used to purchase electric tape for temporary paddocks. CEEPSA bought R3000.00 worth of teff as our annual charity donation.

 

2017 CHARITY KNYSNA RELIEF FUND
Although we agreed at the AGM to ask two charities to submit an application, it was agreed that the recent disaster in Knysna needed all the assistance it could get.
As Di Pieterse in on the ground in George, she will visit the affected yards and ascertain where assistance is needed. As such we have also called for donations from all our members to buy feed, blankets, buckets etc. Zena Penfold has already donated R2000.00 to this fund in addition to our contribution. Anyone wishing to make a donation please pay into the CEEPSA Account marked Knysna Relief as the reference. We will let you know who has donated and give a full recon on how this was spent.

CEEPSA WELCOMES Lynda Records as a Director of CEEPSA. Lynda was voted in at the recent AGM, and brings a wealth if experience and enthusiasm and will hold the Marketing Portfolio. Any assistance will be welcome.

RECENT COMMUNICATION REGARDING COACHES
There has once again been a number of communiques from the sporting sector regarding Coaches We cannot answer for other Professional Bodies, but can assure you that membership of non-statutory bodies is completely voluntary.
We also assure you that your qualifications are valid and your professional designation as an Equestrian Practitioner has been loaded onto the National Learner Register Database. In addition your qualification is recognised in 38 member countries of the International Group for Equestrian Qualifications of whom we are a member through EQASA.
The Equestrian Coach/Instructor qualifications that we are almost finished writing under mandate of the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations will be the ONLY Equestrian Coach/Instructor qualification registered by SAQA.
DEVELOPMENT OF NEWQUALIFICATIONS
Thanks to the renewal of memberships. Once we have completed the current teaching qualifications we will start developing the Equine Complimentary Health as well as Equine Dental Technician qualifications.
