REPORT BACK FROM EQASA – IGEQ
The Managing Director of EQASA Mrs Di Pieterse, accompanied by fellow director Mrs Troy Kernick and Mrs Zena Penfold attended the annual International Group for Equestrian Qualifications (IGEQ) conference which was held in Belgium,
it was exciting to note that South Africa are frontrunners with our education and assessment process insofar as we are recognized by government through CEEPSA.
A full report will be published in the Sporting Horse in 2018,
REGISTRATION OF RIDING SCHOOLS AND LIVERY YARDS.
Although huge interest has been shown since this initiative was launched, many applications are pending while minor requirements are being attended to.
The most gratifying thing is that the standards are being raised, and compliance is now understood and addressed. This speaks to CEEPSA’s mandate as a Professional Body and in addition we are protecting the interests of the industry and its stakeholders as well as the public
We are preparing a handbook unpacking the criteria which will ba available in January 2018.
Remember you will become a preferred service provider once you are registered and the public will know that you have complied with strict criteria and are fully accountable.
WELCOME TO OUR NEW TRAINING PROVIDERS
A number of new Training Providers have been registered in Gauteng offering potential students a varied choice of venues.
Training Providers are required to supply their syllabus and training material on an annual basis to ensure that they are meeting their terms and condition as set out by CEEPSA.
A fully updated list will be available on our website as soon as all the various providers have submitted their 2018 programmes.
MEDICAL AID REQUIREMENTS
It has come to our attention that certain Medical Aids are now insisting that applicants who ride must submit the details of their instructor who must in turn be qualified,
This is great news and validates the importance and value of qualifications.
GROOMS GROUP BENEFIT SCHEME
We are delighted to report that we have managed to procure the first of our insurance benefits for CEEPSA members and we are awaiting a precis of the cover.
A full schedule of this scheme and details will be published in early January.
CPD LOG BOOKS AND 2018 RENEWALS
